Dipping corals?
I always dip new corals before going into the tank, but I just throw some Lugols into the bag and let it sit while acclimating. Lately I am having a problem with just my zoas- they are closing up, some are melting, and some others are closed and brown. I have checked params and all are unchanged - nitrate <10, salinity 1.024, temp constant 80, ph a little low at 8.0. I have stared at the tank for hours on end day and night and have not found any critters or inhabitants of the tank that are messing with the zoas so I am guessing a fungus. It is just the zoas - all other coral are fine and healthy. I am preparing to pull all zoas out and dip in Lugols again, but my question is should I let them sit in still water or keep a maxi-jet circulating the water? Also, what if any side effects if I up the dose by half?
