I was wantiing to know how 'teacher of the year' works in other districts? I was named T.O.Y. here at JBMS, but it is a funny situation...... It seems as though it was a popularity contest (I am amazed that I won as I have P.O'd some of my cohorts on this campus), as I feel other teachers here are more worthy of the "award" than myself. It was a faculty vote that determined TOY, is it the same in other districts? Do other districts offer any kind of incentive to winning this "award"? (like cash, extra day off, etc...) Seguin does not. I get a parking space, but it is where all the kiddos hang out, so I wont use it as my truck has already been vandalized here on campus! I have to write an essay, be interviewed and have a classroom observation done-- Sounds to me more like punishment!! Oh well, just wondering what the other districts policies are.......
