About a year ago, when I was just starting to research this hobby, I went to alamo aquatics with a friend to just peruse their marine section. It was the first time I had been in the store, infact, in a fish store in a few years. As a kid I never looked at marine stuff, my parents said it was to expensive, and as young adult, the attitude helt true until I decided, after seeing my friends tank, I had to do it.
Anyhow, we were looking at some of the cured live rock with corals at AA and I noticed a very small pulse coral on a rock, most people would probably have overlooked it, but my eye has always been drawn to the smaller stuff. 1 to 2 cm in total size, two hands pulsing (my pods fascinate me as much or mroe than my fish now days!) At the time, I had no idea what this little creature was, I had never heard of a pulse coral or xenia at that point in my life, and while I may be showing my inexperience or ignorance, I am pretty sure of my ID.
Why do I regret not buying this little guy and setting up a tank SOMEHOW, right then and there (no matter how unfeasible that is?)
He was a bright bright yellow that I can only compare to a yellow tang. Maybe the color doesn't hold true with age, or maybe my buddy and I were halucinating.. not sure.. .I have searched the net multiple times and never found anything like it. Oh well...
