Recycling Question
Almost 1 month ago my brother and I started up his old 55g tank. It's going to have 2 clowns,2 anemones, LR, LS, and clean up crew. Here's the situation. We added the 15lbs. of Live sand 2 decent sized Live rock ( thinking about more live rock and Live sand). waited 3 weeks until the cycling was finished. Took a sample to Austin Aquariums and had good old Mike test them for us. He said it was ok to add a clean up crew to help control Diatoms. The crew is doing fine. Diatoms are well under control. Here's the question we'd like to go ahead and add more live sand but I don't know if that will recycle the tank? also ( and this might sound stupid but) can we just pick up the clean up crew ( 5 small hermit crabs) dump the LS and then put them back down in the tank? We do plan on adding more to the cleanup crew some snails, etc. but for right now 5 is what we can afford. The clowns and anemones won't be added for a couple of months. Right now I'm just concerned about the clean up crew. Could they survive in the tank if it starts to cycle again.
Sincerely
Greg
Thanks
