Went to the lake to ride the jet ski today and decided to net some of the tiny shrimp that are there and see if by chance they would tolerate saltwater. Red Bluff lake could be considered brackish water I suppose but its **** nasty water anyways and full of these tiny little shrimp. The largest is maybe 1" long and they are completly see through. I have no clue as to what these actually are but added a couple of them to a glass of water from my reef tank and it didnt bother them a bit. They even ate some flake food I put in there. I have no desire to add these to the main tank as they arent that great looking but was thinking that if they will live I may add them to my sump and let em eat the detrius and feed my corals and fish with their larvae? Every one of them I brought home (maybe 10) has a huge clump of eggs so definatly some coral food! Anyone know what these are or know of a reason I shouldnt add them to the sump?
