Still chillen, alk has been a little up and down but getting close to stable. This tank has been hard to dial in and I've changed too much to make it easy on myself. Anyhow it's been through a lot and has hung on and grew a little around the base.

So I nailed alk to 7.56 and hasn't moved in days now so hopefully I can hold there. This guy really hasn't grown much but it's looking like it maybe one of those corals that takes a year of being glued to rock to start growing well so I may glue him to a rock.

Well this guy looks like it may be encrusting some more which comes in spurts but won't last long I'm sure

Would like to show you what I found todaySo I found this on my pump after it had fallen off months ago and hadn't made time to put it back up. When I got it back up and turned it on again it jumped off again so I pulled it to inspect and this is what I found and wonder if this has been my issue. Magnet has been rusting fo some time now. Hope to see a turn around on my sps. Will be doing 2-45g w/c and adding carbon. See what happens. Would this kill sps and discolor them and hamper growth? Have any of y'all had a similar issue and see a turn around?

I must be just missing the rust from the pictures as I can't see it. FWIW, I think it will have little effect on the tank as GFO is basically just iron rust. Now if its a different metal that is rusting, then there is the potential for issues there.

The plastic split and exposed the magnet and swelled the magnet and looks like the magnet has rusted away.

If its only iron metal rusting, then no, as its like free GFO for your tank. If its another type of metal, like steel, then you may have issues.
