Frag giveaway event at tomorrow's Feb MAAST Meeting

Hey guys!!!

I'm creating this post because we will be conducting a truly awesome event at this upcoming MAAST meeting Feb 15, 2015 at the Chester's on Broadway. What is the event.....well I got the idea that I really have a ton of frags from my reef tank that are really taking up a lot of space in my current frag tank. I would like to get rid of them but its such a hassle to drive out to an LFS and try and see if they would be interested in my frags or if they even have room.

After speaking to a couple of new reefers, I got to thinking that they could use something to jump start their reef and this would help them get deeper and deeper into this great hobby of ours. Fortunately, several others are in the same situation and have generously offered up frags of their own.

I am writing this post to everyone in our fabulous group that would be interested in donating their own spare frags or would like to see if they would like to swap out their frag for something nice that they see at the event.

I discovered that our group has a rather nice frag/breeder tank that we can use to house all of our nice frags for everyone to see. I will be bringing some saltwater, a heater and a water pump for circulation. If anyone would like to bring some spare equipment just in case Murphy decides to show up and bring his stupid rules, it would be much appreciated.

I wanted to add that in the spirit of of the mission of MAAST, encourage the growth of the hobby in South Texas, we are going to be giving out frags from various members ranging from Zoas, LPS, and SPS to members of the group:

Order in which the selection process will occur is as follows:
Web Members that charter up at the meeting get their choice of any (2) frags to choose from First come, first Serve basis only
Charter Members get their choice of any (1) frags to choose from Order will be decided at the meeting
Any remaining frags will be available for web members to choose any (1) frag for themselves Order will be decided at the meeting

If you are just starting out and are looking for something to start out your reef or a seasoned vet; come out and check out the meeting to hear about our two presentations focused on educating on two topics around reef keeping, what we have in store for the year, as well as take part in getting a frag!!!
