Default Live ROTIFERS & COPEPOD bags for sale $20 each

We are now offering bags of live rotifer and copepods for sale at $20 each.

A few months ago we began culturing our rotifers with copepods and have had great success in the larvae tanks. We also dose our coral reef systems regularly with the combined culture. The two coexist together with regular daily harvesting.

Each $20 bag includes 5ml of rotigrow plus which is enough phyto feed to start a 5gallon bucket of rotifers/copepods. I also offer $4 ice cubes of rotigrow plus for short term solution for your phytoplankton feed.

Will these copepods live/breed in a reef tank?

Yes, the copepods will populate in your tank and eat detritus and other waste. The rotifers will not but will act as feed for your corals, fish and pods. You just don't want to dose the whole bag into your tank.

What I recommend for those wanting to add to your tank is to pour into a coffee filter and shake the coffee filter into your sump with the pumps off for a few minutes....but try not to put all of the smaller rotifers in your tank right away.

The other option is to set up a 5g bucket with new saltwater, room temperature and an airstone. Pour the entire bag into the bucket and use a coffee filter to harvest copepods and rotifers a couple times a day to feed to your tank. The culture will live in the bucket for around a week before they all die off without adding more phyto.
