Just wondering, do you not trust the 2 clamps it comes with, or do you not have them? They are growing coraline algae like crazy and I have a clam under them, just thought I would share.

It's actually my friends tank. She wants something more on the actinic front and I always heard you had to have 3watts per gallon for clams?

3 watts per gallon is a decent rule of thumb, but with leds, you should really be using par.

For comparison, I have 216W max power on a 105 that I am running at 30%. Lots of factors play into LEDs such as height AWL, optics, and power.

Ok. So the lights on the nuvo are ok then?

LEDs are different, and yes you have to measure with par meter. They are good for moderate intensity witch will grow just about everything. And it's a shallow tank, so...but I do understand the more blue spectrum, these are a 14K and I'm ok with them more than the 10k, the other option. but it's going to be very hard to find a decent led light that is controllable for as much as they want to pay.

I'm hesitant to say yes because I don't know anything about their lights.
