Default Swimming Pool to Pond Conversion

An archer fish school seems like they would make a cool addition to the pond, lol

Today I hooked up the AquaC Pond Protein Skimmer. It's a bit taller than I was expecting at 31". Here's a side by side with the modified EV240...

It immediately began collecting foam so I took a short video. Excuse the sound, the mic on this camera is super sensitive...it is not this loud around my pond lol.

I treated with prazi a week ago so I'm not sure if that is causing some extra foaming. If the skimmer keeps pulling out this much I will be very very impressed. I have had to empty the bucket twice already and the skimmate is much darker than what I was collecting with the EV240. I'll update in a week or so if it keeps working this well.

Did they send that unit to you for free to test out?

Not free but a very big discount and free shipping. They had already decided to launch these and were in the process of getting things ready for distribution when I just happened to contact them...so lucky timing for me.

Just a quick video of the fish getting a night time snack.

The drought is giving me more problems than ever. My well is barely producing enough water for household use so I've had to bypass the bead filter since I don't have enough water to backflush it and I've had to also bypass the surface skimmer because I don't even have enough water to top off for evaporation. The water level has been dropping fast, so far the fish are fine but hopefully we get some decent rain soon or my pond days might be coming to an end.

Looks like the rains this week should really help. Curious, would you be interested in another TSN/RTC hybrid? i have a 26" that has outgrown my 225.
