The wife and I went about three years ago, we took prescription motion sickness pills and it was great. On the third night we took a second dose. I am not sure if I would of got sea sick or not, but why take the chance. The best time to go on a Cruise is October, very few kids, prices are half, and it is cooler. It took my wife 25 years to get me to go on one and I enjoyed it.

    here is my $.02

i had never been on a cruise before until my honeymoon last year. in may we went on a cruise to the bahamas and key west. i dont think i would do it again. the reasons: too much of a cattle call. too few things to do on the ship. too many bottom feeders there for the buffet and anything else free (inclusive) they could get their hands on. dont get me wrong i had a great time and had a blast at most of the stops (except atlantis, wouldnt go back there on a dare) and on the ship for the most part. i just dont think cruising is for me. however, the wife loves them and goes on 1-2 per year.

as for sea sickness. i get motion sick worse than anyone i have ever known. i cant even ride in the back seat of a vehicle. i went to my dr a week before the cruise and got the patches. they worked great! when i moved to the back of the ship i could definitely feel it and got a tad woosy on occasion but that was it.

my recommendation. if you arent sure go on a shorter one to start. there are several 4 or 5 day cruises out of galveston.

I'm also debating it. I have always been the guy who flew to the destination then spent a week there, which I love. But I think this will give me a taste of a lot of carribean stops in a short amount of time. So far my experience Aruba has had the best beaches. We had the most fun at the grand cayman since there was just sooo much to do. We literally had two excursions booked almost everyday. I have also been to Belize but I would recommend cayman over that. If I could find one going to st marteen I think I would try it since the wife wants to go so bad.
