it is functional, it just leaks a little when you first start it up after opening it. i just had it in a small tub to catch the little bit of water and pour it back into the tank. since i only opened it every two weeks, it was no big deal. i think you could probably order a primer seal kit and fix it.

Maybe YOU could fix it my friend. I think you highly over estimate my handiness abilities. Mr I can build a boat out of wood or do my own stain glass. We should call you the MAAST Magyver 
seriously though, thinking about it for that temp maroon clownfish tank we have, until we decide what to do with them. The little male was getting torn up, till almost all his tail was gone. Bertha just kept getting deep gashes in her head, amazed she survived. She is too mean, but forgets she is in a tank with other more badder fish (with teeth).
