Default Coffee drinkers? Kopi Luwak, cheap.

Hey just wanted to post this in CASE anyone was interested in piggybacking. I found this coffee about 6 months ago. I then ordered a whole bunch as Xmas presents for my clients, and some friends. It is just fantastic coffee: If you like Starbucks, you will hate this. It is a very smooth, not bitter, but intensely flavored coffee (no, not flavored with something else). I'm going to buy 20 pounds (that's the where the best discount is), and I have a wholesale account with them. Most of the coffees are $8.09 a pound, plus shipping, no tax. This competes very well with other gourmet coffees, and is just SO much better.

This is a lab-processed version of the world's most expensive coffee - Kopi Luwak - that runs up to $600 a pound. This is the coffee that Jack Nicholson drank in "Bucket List". It is "processed" by feeding the coffee cherries to civet cats, and then "harvesting" the beans out of the scats. This is why we call it "Cat Crap Coffee". The folks at University of Florida figured out how to replicate the enzymatic process in the gut of the civet, and produce it in the lab. This coffee company licenses the process. In taste tests, it is indistinguishable from the real Kopi Luwak.

Like I said, if you like a bitter coffee, this is NOT it. If you dump cream and sugar in your coffee, this probably isn't it either. But, if you like a smooth cup of rich coffee, this IS it.

Here's the link to the coffees - ignore the prices. http://www.coffeeprimero.com/categor...gle-order.aspx

    And the FAQ: http://www.coffeeprimero.com/Topic/13-FAQ.aspx

Like I said, most are $8.09 a pound, some are $9.00 a pound. If you are interested, drop me a PM, and tell me which one(s) you want, and how you want it (type of grind or whole bean). I make NOTHING on this deal - just passing it on.

Hmm, I'm interested in it since I've wanted to try what the cat crap coffee tastes like. It seems like it'd be pretty similar to the real thing, wouldn't you think? I currently drink Ruta Maya coffee so I'm not sure how it'd compare to that, but yeah, I can't stand that burnt roast bitter liquid they try to tell me is coffee at Starbucks.

I'm the same way with beer - not fond of IPAs. I'm usually content with my Folgers Breakfast Blend, at about $5 a pound ($4 a can that used to be a pound). But this stuff is really nice. I only drink 2 cups a day, so what the heck. If you want to try it, let me know. I'm in NB a couple times a week.

Yeah, I'd love to try it! I'm a snob with coffee and beer. I do like strong coffee, but not bitter coffee. That's what I love about Ruta maya, you can make it like a cup of tar but it's still smooth and not bitter.
