Help!! Dying Candy Cane and falling apart!!!
I don't know if this is the right place to put the Help,
But I need Help I have a dying Candy Cane with only two head. One is regrowing But the other is dying and falling apart and VERY small. What should I do. I did water changes already two times in a round. One day and the next day. My Ammonia is still a little high, It's not clear, it's a little green cloudy. My nitrate is yellow, was red, but not anymore.
What can I do with my Dying Candy Cane.? or how do I cut it off?
PLEASE help.. Thanks so much!

If water were perfect I'd say do a dip (coral revive works well for LPS). Since your water chemistry/cycle seems questionable, I'd say its time to pick your battles and be patient. If your tank is fairly new then it may not be ready for any LPS. How long has this been setup? Was the candy cane doing fine then all of a sudden had a change? Candy cane are pretty easy to keep....need more info to give decent direction.

Help!! Dying Candy Cane and falling apart!!!
If you have ammonia in your tank, you shouldn't have anything in there except for maybe live rock. You may want to add some prime to bring the ammonia down or buy some bacteria. If you go with prime, it's a quick fix and you'll need to find a temporary home for your live stock. If you go with bacteria, you should be able to keep your live stock but you'll have to keep an eye on the ammonia and do water changes if you detect any. There are several brands of bacteria. I've had good luck with bio spira but I've also heard good things about Fritz. Polly's pets sell both and I'm sure other Local fish stores do as well. The ammonia might be from the dying candy cane so it might be good to cut the dead head off.
