I was simply transporting some more oystercrete and couldn't pass up an opportunity to take some pics as they oystercrete was being piled up on the tailgate. Think about the possibilities if they were in your tank and took some time to aquascape it properly =) What's shown in the pics is approx 75 pounds resting on the tailgate. Sure does, since oyster shells are comprised of 94% calcium and much of it is a great source of calcium carbonate roughly 74%. As you know, many corals to include lps and sps use calcium carbonate as a building block to create their hard exoskeleton. Also oyster shells are used in the hobby as a ph buffer so very useful and complementary to any setup or build.
