What's the difference between a tank and an aquarium, at least according to them? And is it a verbal policy or is it spelled out in the contract you signed?

Renters saved my butt at my last apt when i flooded my apt and my downstairs neighbors Apt. Especially when the apt tried to screw me. the insurance company went after them. My 125 was a nice piece in the apt. had to sacrafice the dinner table to set it up though lol. Priorities
In the contract it says no fish but the lady told me i still cold as long as its a tank thats not to big not an aquarium she said. ^ woah hope i dont flood nothing lol
Yeah. That stuff happens. Start your RODI unit and then pass out on the couch... No buenos. At what gallon size does a tank become an aquarium? I thought it didn't matter?
If I were you I would get something in writing rather than a verbal commitment. Also let them know exactly how big of an aquarium it is. When most people think of a fish tank they think of a 10 gallon or so, maybe 20 which is much smaller than a 72 gallon.
Yea they consider a 10 gal a tank for sure but when they hear 72gal there going to act like its the biggest aquarium in the state lol. Most people who dont know this hobby would freak out if they heard what we consider as a "big" aquarium lol.
Switched over to the dark side of lighting. LEDs. The force is strong with this one!
Legally speaking, the contract is binding and you would be in breach if you setup any fishtank. The verbal promise is not binding because: 1) its not in writing, 2) its a contemporaneous oral agreement seeking to modify an unambiguous contract, & 3) she most likely doesn't have the authority to bind the company in that matter.
So, find a different place to live or pray you never have a hiccup with it. Also, while renter's insurance is great, it doesn't cover willful breaches of the lease agreement.
Just my 2 cents as a soon to be attorney![]()
