    Default Help me please!!!

I work in construction, and while I am not usually working outdoors, it is still quite cold lately in the building I work in, especially when the wind picks up. I have all of the Carhartt jackets, long sleeve T-shirts, insulated jacket shirts, etc. The problem is, i really don't like working with multiple thick layers on because it really restricts movement. So, with that in mind, I ask you...what is the warmest, thinnest, most flexible shirt you've ever worn?

Do you need flame resistant clothing? Or something that meets OSHA? If not, I swear by under armor and other similar materials. Also go to Cabelas and look at the hunting section for wool. I have some lightweight wool jackets that I use for hunting and they are awesome. Thin enough to not be bulky and they cut the wind from going through you.
Like anything else though, the good stuff can be expensive.

Is under armour a form-fitting kind of shirt? Is it on the softer, comfortable side? I hadn't thought of wool.

I have both types of fit on the under armor. Fitted and tight. Yes, they are comfortable. Also, they have different levels of warmth too.
I didn't think about silkies, might be worth a shot an much cheaper than under armor.

Underarmor is good but expensive. Polypropylene thermals are what you need. It's what under armor are without the name and price. I was issued them in the military and wear then to this day. I, too, work in construction. I feel your pain. Goodwill usually has them just before the season and sometimes during if you look. Poly pros are thin and very warm when used in layers. Full body movement for sure.

+1 to underarmor/ off brand underarmors. I've been in 20 degree weather with 30mph wind in soccer gear and felt fine pre-warmup with an under armor upper, compression shorts and gloves.
