    Default Protein skimmer

I hooked up my protein skimmer yesterday and their are bubbles coming out but the cup is still clear after it being on 24- hrs. My tank was not dirty but I would have thought it should have pulled some slug out. How can I make sure this is even working. My water is not as clear as it was when I had my overhang filter either. Any suggestions.

What model is the skimmer? How high is the water level in the chamber you have it in? Most skimmers need at least 7" level.

Not only that. Most skimmers need a "break in" period. Normally a week or so. Depends on the skimmer. But mark is right. Water level is important. And it needs to stay consistent.
