Welcome, you are definitely joining the right crowd if you are staring for countless hours at your fish tank. lol We've all been there and still doing that! If you need any help or advice about anything, I'm available. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a near empty tank turn into a beautiful reef tank. Good luck and look forward to hearing more from ya!

My name is Marshall and I am fairly new to the hobby. My girlfriend has done a 100 gal. FOWLR tank in the past (along with other small tanks, but that was her favorite) and she got out of the hobby after somebody came over for a party a few years back and crashed her tank. She recently told me I could take over the 100 gal. tank, and she would help me along the way. The plan is to start off with another FOWLR tank, but I would love to turn it into a reef tank once I learn a lot more and won't make careless mistakes that can be avoided by doing proper research. I am really excited to get into this, and it's something fun for both of us to do together. She already makes fun of me (harmlessly, of course) for staring at the tank for hours when I all I have in there are a couple of mushroom rocks, live rock, two urchins, and some hermit crabs. I look forward to getting involved in the forums, learning, and hopefully getting to meet some of you.

A brief bit about me: I am a chemistry undergrad at UTSA. I work as a dog groomer. I love animals, sci-fi/fantasy, computer games, science, and typically all things nerdy.

Hey Marshall! Welcome....I too am at UTSA, but I'm a Bio major. I wouldn't be too surprised if we may have crossed paths at some point. I'm sure you live in the science building too;)

Yeah, I'm sure we've crossed paths at one point or another. I am constantly bouncing back and forth between labs in the science building and lectures in the BSE. It would be cool to meet up some day before the semester ends and have coffee or something. My girlfriend was formerly a bio major before I persuaded to come to the dark side (chemistry), but she loves to talk bio/science with anybody and everybody. So, I'm sure she'd love to meet you too.

Blaaaaaa Chemistry. Although, I think I have to say that Genetics was worse than any other chem class I took. I've only got one lab this semester and it's Biochem...which is enough for me at this point. I'm around a lot MWF so we def. should all meet up... and I love super super close to campus if you ever need to tank talk or help.
