    Default Servicing A Pump?

    I have a Pan World I removed from my tank a while back and want to get it serviced before I use it again. Anyone ever done this or were can I take it to make sure its in tip top shop shape before using it again....

    When I have seen people do all they do is put 3in 1 oil in it and clean the props

    I imagine the two main reasons local machine shops don't service aquarium pumps are 1) demand is inconsistent at best, and 2) most of our pumps cost more to fix than what they're worth.. It's a serious bummer to replace an expensive pump you know could be fixed, so there's definitely demand..

    Oil it, (if it is not sealed) run vinegar through it for 1/2 an hour and that is about it. If you have to buy a new propeller head that will run you about $110. Might as well buy another complete pump.
