Default Need info on a chromis or damsel...

Ok, I was just at Pollys Pets in UC and they have a chromis/damsel in a back tank all by its lonesome that looks pretty cool. Luckily, its not for sale yet so I have time to figure out what it is The little guy is shaped like a chromis, including the way the fins are tapered, but is solid black with a yellow tail that goes to transluscent at the tips. There are two wholesalers online that sell a yellowtail black chromis which looks identical to it. However, its a wholesaler so no fish info. The other option is a Yellowtail Dascyllus (Dascyllus punctatus) that is listed on live aquaria who has close to the right colors but the body shape and hue is off (don't know if thats because the picture is of an adult and I'm looking in the store at a juvenille). Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, thank you. Is the one in UC a fluke or are y'all ordering more?

I know ther are atleast 6-10 of them at our new braunfels shop. If they are available again this week Randy will be getting some more in. I like them because they are a lot more like a chromis in temperment than a regular damsel is. In fact the wholesalers refer to them as lyretail chromis not damsels.

The Lyretail chromis (damsels) are available this week and there will be some arriving at both shops if you or anyone else is interested. The order will be arriving Thursday morning.

As I was, the actual lyretail chromis Chromis vanderbilti are the ones that are available this week.

Thx jcnkt for this post. I have been wanting some schooling fish besides Anthias and I've had no luck so far. I've never seen Lyretails before, but i like them and I got some for my tank
