    Default TV Repair

Anyone ever change lamp/bulb on a LCD tv? Mine is going out and wondering how difficult it is and how exspensive the bulbs are? Anywhere locally that sells the bulbs? TV is a Samsung. Thanks.

Change the lamp on an LCD? I'm not sure LCDs have 'lamps'. Did your TV go out? What are the symptoms? Quite possibly an inverter, happened to my phillips a couple of times. On smaller monitors, like for computers, it's not uncommon for it to be a $3 capacitor, but not typical on televisions.

Okay...not an LCD. It is a DLP. Sorry. Symptoms- hard to see, very light. Lamp button is lit up.

    Lamps are very easy.....

When you order, make sure your getting a good bulb(osram or phillips) dont go to cheap but don't pay over $200....

You can save too if you order the bulb and re use your housing... I save my neighbor who don't have access to the Internet over $200.... I paid $99 for his lamp and reused his housing...

Lmk if you need any help.. I can get the site I bought the lamp from too..

Oh and be careful of the "oem compatible" or any other ways to get you to buy Chinese made bulbs.....

Btw what makes you think it's going out? Dimming?

My dlp bulb went out Monday. Found a place locally that has the bulb for $125 over on bandera.

I didn't know that I could get the bulb and re-house it. May have to get up with you, tony, and get a replacement bulb for the extra housing that I have.

The bulb that I am replacing was an oem replacement bulb from china, $68. Lasted about two years.

Did your television let you know it was time to replace the bulb? I get a message after so many hours. I didn't get one this time... The bulb just popped after about a year and a half.

DLP bulbs are easy to replace. Cheap ones last a while. Good ones last longer. Lindsay, order one and call me when you get it. I'll help you.
