Thread: RO/DI recommendations

    Default RO/DI recommendations

I want to purchase a unit to use for my salt mix and water changes. I'm going back and forth to the LFS once a week getting premix and RO.

I think I will produce 40 gallons on a monthly basis. That will allow for a water change biweekly for both my freshwater and saltwater, and is enough for saltwater premix biweekly water change.

Any recommendation on which unit to get? Extra accessories recommended/needed (bucket, TDS)?

    Thanks
    KT

Bought a 75gpd unit from Buckeye Field Supply a few years ago, extremely pleased. That and a recent Tunze Osmolator ATO are 2 of the best purchases I have made

I run the spectrapure 90 GPD unit and it definetely beats going to the store to purchase water. Also a storage tank of about 10 gallons, I fill that up and always have RO water ready in addition to the premixed 5 gallon jugs of saltwater for water changes.

x2 on the ATO, makes for a hassle free tank

I purchased a unit from PurelyH2O that came with dual-tds meter and float valve setup with auto-shutoff and flush for around $225. Works great, have it hooked into the top of the side of a 32 gallon trash can and i'm never out of water
