    Default Finally..........

After much beating, banging, cussing, straining, spraying of break-free, and the use of a 2' cheater pipe, the exhaust manifold is off of the 4WD.

Now I just gotta wait for the machine shop to work their magic, then put her back together. And start the fight with the valve cover.

    It never ends.

2' cheater pipe!?!? I'm surprised you didn't bust off a manifold bolt In the head! Good job.

Nah, the mani bolts came loose pretty easy, the flange bolts, otoh, tried to kill me. And since they have been on for several years, the only option is to snap them off and then have the machine shop drill and tap.

Not that I didn't have the heebies while breaking the manifold bolts loose. Bust one of them off, and you just turned a not too bad job into a real nightmare.

What allan said. When my manifold went out. Headers were as much as repairing or new manifold.

No on the headers. Stock exhaust and not going to deal with pulling the right bank off if I don't have to. Besides headers would cost many times more than what its gonna cost to machine the manifold. I'm cheap, lol.

Erik, would you post up a pic of the beast? I do love me some old Dodge trucks.

I'll get a pic of my 4by once I get it fixed. Don't want anyone to see it with the guts strewn out everywhere :(
