Vodka dosing

Had an old vodka bottle laying around it looks like there's a few good drops in there and I know this has been discussed before. I read on reef keeping about .1ml for 50 gallons of water only I don't have a syringe. Does anyone know if 1 or 2 drops would spark bacterial growth and make a diff with algae or is it the continual dosing everyday as scheduled in the article that makes a diff. I only have a little diatoms to worry about. Please and thanks

It's the continual dosing, and it's a gradual ramp-up over time. When I was doing it, my final dosage was around 4ml a day. A syringe is critical to getting the dose right, and you have to increase gradually in order for it to work and not spark a massive algae bloom. I'll see if I can find the article for you that I worked off of.

Yea I read that just wasn't sure if the gradual increase was for a lot of algae, thought maybe since it was just a light diatom problem only one dose would do it. Thanks sherita il most likely get some phosban media. Also I was trying to see if marine iguanas would eat cyano for you. The only thing related was that most herbivore iguanas will eat cyano but wasn't specific.

uh, just for the record I was just spoofing with the galopagos island iquana. I don't think it would be a good idea, nor do I think these reptiles have been kept in the home.

Never mind there the only marine iguanas it was speaking of herbivores in general not iguanas
