Yard Maintenance Person

Anyone using a company or person to keep up your yard? I travel a lot for work and am gone a lot. I used to have a friend as a roommate and he took care of the house and yard while I was gone. Worked out great but now he's bought his own house. Around the same time last year that he moved out my girlfriend moved in with me and does great at keeping up the house...not so great with the yard. So I need to hire someone now. Any recommendations?

Are you looking for someone to cut the yard or a landscaper? I have a buddy who cuts yards, no big company or anything, just him and a helper. He does good work. He's been cutting my moms yard for years.

I'm just looking for someone to mow the yard, weed-eat, edge...the basic stuff. I live in Stone Oak, so it would have to be someone that doesn't mind the drive or services the area. Of course the driving thing is cost...I can call up a landscaper and have a crew of guys working on my yard but I'm kinda hoping for someone working alone or another guy not charging an arm and a leg. That sort of thing.
