POTM Changes (IMPORTANT!)

Based on member feedback we have decided to change the POTM up a bit.
From now on you will have more time to get that perfect shot!
We have decided to move the POTM to a quarterly schedule.
That means voting for the topic released in February will be in May.

We hope that by giving you a couple of months to work on your shot more people will find the time to participate!

Because your input is important to us we are also open to topic suggestions.

If there's a specific topic you'd like to see please post it here!

I like the change... now I just need to quit being a cheap *** and buy a new camera! My 8yr. old 5MP camera doesn't cut it anymore.

Oh please don't think that you have to have an expensive camera to participate! We have had POTM winners that just used a point&shoot

Going quarterly will mean there are less opportunities for people to win so to give as many people as possible a chance we will stick with the 'win only once per year' rule.
The rule changes are meant to encourage more participation by a larger group of members.

Just an observation... More people might participate if you actually keep up with the contests and award the winner. I personally don't care because I am over it but I won Jan POTM and nothing has changed... What is the topic that was supposed to be released in Feb?

yeah I won Oct. POTM 2011 and am still looking at the september 2011 winner on the home page. I thought we were supposed to win Monthly Prizes:
a) Maast T-shirt
b) Picture Featured on Home Page
c) Picture on the front page of the Newsletter.
