oh yeah I remember that huge reef bowl. They used a retro acrylic chair. Pretty cool although i am not a fan of acrylic. Way to easy to scratch. I searched for the largest glass bowl I could find and 14g was it. I was not even planning this project until a couple of weeks ago when I was walking through a stores glass vase section and a light bulb went off. Stay tuned for more pics as I buy and build the stand, light fixture etc..

for a glass cleaner, you could heat 2 pieces of acrylic with a heat gun, then form one to the inside and one to the outside of the bowl, cover one side of each with velcro (for a glass scrubber). Now, superglue 2 plastic or epoxy coated magnets to the other side of each piece (note the polarity of the magnets) and you are all set.

there is a product designed to clean glass smoking utensils/vases that works well, but it is very labor intensive as the inside pad is about 1/2 inch around. here's a link http://theoriginalbuddy.com/usez/
