    Default Reef Roids

Today Tebstan and I picked up some Reef Roids dry food from elegant reef after talking about it. We have personally tried coral frenzy, Fauna marin zoa food, cyclop eeze and blue zoo dry foods. The winner is Reef Roids, this stuff is awesome, very small particle size and it mixes with water great (unlike other brands ). It says to use 1 teaspoon per 100g, her tank is alittle over that with sump/fuge includes so we mixed 7/8 tsp in some tank water then added it to the tank. With in less then 5 minutes most of the corals went crazy, several zoas/palys, scollys, acans, wellso, donut coral plus many more showed major signs of food response. Just after 1 feeding I'm sold, I will continue to use this product for sure, it costs more then some of the other brands but seems to be well worth it. This will become one of the main coral foods used in my prop tank build. There is a link to Reef Roids if your not familiar with them.

It’s too bad I didn’t think to get the camera out. I didn’t even realize the donut coral could do that! I’ll try to get some photos during the next feed.

I’ve seen all these corals react to feeding, but not all of them have reacted at the same time to the same food. The protein content is a little higher than Coral Frenzy, the same as Cyclopeeze. The texture of Cyclopeeze makes it a cumbersome food, but the Reef Roids is even finer than Coral Frenzy. I feed many different foods to try to get a reaction out of every coral. Reef Roids may end up replacing a few of my staple foods. I still have to test it in the automatic feeder to see if it floats like a film when it first hits the water or dissolves quickly before the fish snatch it up.

I've seen it there before, but it seeed so expensive. But, from what you're saying, it may be worth it.

I have been using it for about 4 months and everything seems to be fine. Only have good things to say about it.....

Definately will give it a try. This is the second positive response I've heard about this product and how the corals really respond to it especially during target feedings. Since I frag so often, this just might be the extra boost I need for my corals to look and color their best!
