Thread: Recommend a fish for a frag tank.

  1. #1

Default Recommend a fish for a frag tank.

Can anyone recommend a small fish for my 20L frag tank? I will have one big piece of live rock in there with smaller pieces laid around, as much egg crate as I can fit and it will be bottomless....

Dont really care if it's the ugliest fish out there, just looking for a work horse to help with any algae that may pop up....

Might have a six line in there to help with any pests but unsure of that yet..

Well... if the tank is truly bottomless... ;)

I've had luck with a yellow tang or a yellow eyed kole. The latter seems kind of skittish compared to the yellow so I'm thinking that one rock may not give it enough space to hide.

6 line will be great for pests but only if it's the only fish..small tank and 6 lines are mean little dudes

man, didn't catch the 20 gallon piece either... would a starry blenny get along with a six in there?

I agree with Rob on a 6line in that small of a tank. In my experience they will try to rule the tank when given the opportunity.

I have a mean 6 line with a starry blenny in the 220g...they don't pay the other any mind but the tank is huge and the starry blenny is huge.

I would think the tank size wouldn't be a concern on these two though, since they shouldn't compete for anything. But who knows with 6 liners.

But if I had to pick one... That is a hard decision...

I have mentioned a couple of times in other threads that I had a pink streaked wrasse and a tail spot blenny in my old Finnex. They got a long and both appeared to be working.
