    Default adding bubbles/airstone to marine tank

    Still can't get things quite right.
    still a bit of algae issues, and low growth on my shrooms.....
    Wondering if there is any downfall, upswing to having aeration in the tank.
    75 gal long. drilled with sump.
    all softies and random fishies.
    2 metal halides @300+

    Why do you think this is due to aeration in the tank? what kind of filtration do you have. I think an airstone in the tank is not a good idea. especially if you have corals

    all air stones do is agitate waters surface for oxygen exchange, you can do the same with a powerhead point up agitating the surface. second air stones would cause splash creating a lot of salt creep. if you want growth look into more water change to replenish lost elements, or things like fuel that have amino acids and other elements for growth. also your lights play a role on growth. there is no magic trick to make things grow.

    +1 on the salt creep! Explore increasing your flow in the tank.
