Looking for a new computer

I am in need of a new computer. I have an old macbook now and it has been slowely dying for the past couple months. (battery wont charge, key clicker is stuck, randomly turns off).

I am looking for something to mostly surf the internet that is super fast and easy to use. I don't care about games. I'm pretty much set on another mac due to the low maintenance and how long this one has lasted.

I'm thinking the macbook air would fit my needs well. What do yall think? I'm open to any suggestions!

Mac!!!! I have had this desktop four a few years now and it's still running as fast as when I bought it...... Never needed any kind of spyware or junk that pcs require.....

I'm a huge Mac fan. 27" iMac, 13" MacBook pro and a 13" MacBook. I would go the route of a MacBook as opposed to the air. I don't like the fact that it doesn't have an optical drive. And I feel like I would break it cause its so skinny! I'm gonna be getting an air this summer for the wife and the 13" will be listed here for sale

i have a 24" imac i would get rid of if youre interested. not a thing wrong with it just dont need it and the macbook pro since im finished with school

oh, and the mb air is nice but its not much screen real estate. ie you will get tired of typing papers on it assuming you are still in school. even a 13" was too small for me for school. the 15" mbp ended up being perfect (which is why im keeping it)

Honestly I have used many types of hardware and I find that Toshiba makes a really good computer and they have great tech support even if you do not have a warenty they still try to help. Stay away from Gateway and Acers they are the same company and are very poor product and bad tech support. Dell and sony are superb but cost more and tend to slow down after a year. but in the end it depends on what you like and what Operator system (windows, MAC) that you like the best.. If you ever need help with fixing your computers let me know I can help you trouble shoot or fix most things can even find you cheap parts..

Last month Dell released their new Ultrabook XPS13 which is like the Macair but at a lesser cost. The reviews have been good on it. It might worth checking into. I'm like irmandanny and think toshiba's are usually the best bang for the buck on windows based units. I still have one that runs as good/fast as the day I bought it back in 2005. If you're set on a Mac then I'm sure you know what your options are with it. Just throwing in my opinion on something window based. I build/repair computers as well so if you ever need any help I'd more than happy to lend a hand if I'm not out of town.
