t5 lighting
I'm looking for some input of a t5 setup for a 30/40 breeder, probably a 40b. My main question is 6 bulb or 8 bulb. This setup will be a frag/prop tank, bare bottom and almost 100% SPS. I'm thinking a 6 bulb would be plenty of light for this size tank. Another question is brand, Tek Elite or ATI SunPower? I know the ATI Powermodule is a better fixture then the SunPower, but is it really worth all the extra money, I just dont think so. There is even a large cost difference between a Tek Elite and a ATI SunPower fixture. I had a standard TEK fixture and it was nice, but the cooling fans on the newer Elite model should help keep the bulbs cool so they last alittle longer. I know the most important parts of a fixture are reflectors and ballasts, with that said, Tek or ATI? Any advice or opinions would be great, Thanks

I use 4 T5's on my 40 long 36" x 12" wide and 4 T5's on my 29g 30" x 12" so 6 would be plenty on a 18" wide tank. I keep SPS in both tanks. And with the 40 breeder being so shallow I would think even a cheap 6 lamp fixture would work? Maybe you can get lucky and find a ATI power module used for a great price.
