Thanks for the suggestion aggiereefer12! I ended up going to Polly's and checking out the AquaticLife expandable LED strips and I really liked them. Unfortunately, buying from Polly's was cost prohibitive (Polly's was offering them for $180/strip, I bought mine for $120 shipped/strip). The tank also made it a bit more difficult as it is not a true 48" tank (it's a little shorter), so I could not mount the strips on the hood like I wanted to. Oh well, below is how it turned out, I still like how the higher kelvins pop color and add a bit of florescence, even in a freshwater tank, just my preference though...

Chris, there's plenty of "free" holey rock up in the hill country not far from you. Find an un-gated acreage neighborhood. If someone asks you, you are rock hunting - and since most want to dispose of the rock, they shouldn't mind. If you can, find a lot where there's a home under construction. I do lots of land appraisals and can get as much as I want.

Looks good. For what it's worth, I prefer 50/50s in my cichlid tanks. Gives the blues to help the colors pop but the whites to not allow the blues to drown out everything else. I've run actinic alone and it was just too much blue.
If you decide to add any additional Ecoxotic LED's give me a call, I have several models in stock and we sell them at the same price you see online!
Thanks for the info Louis, but I actually ended up with the AquaticLife LED's as they had the length that I needed at the price that I wanted for the cichlid tank (don't need to grow anything, just light up the fish).
I recently added some fake plants (thanks to Ace) and I think it really added to the tank:
