I was looking into getting a better skimmer in the near future and came across this skimmer. Seen some vids on youtube and it looks pretty legit, however I came across this on a site that sells the product.


"On account of the high demands in stone coral aquariums, this skimmer should be used only in aquariums with about 100 litres (26 US gal.) of water. Mixed aquariums or soft coral aquariums up to 200 litres (52 US gal.) can be set up without any problems."

The wording is weird, and on a site that made a review of the skimmer, it said that if keeping stony corals, the skimmer is only effective under 26 gallons of water.

I am under the 26 gallon mark, however the site that sells it seems to say that it is only effective over the 26 gallon mark. Am I reading this wrong..? Or does anyone own this and can explain?

Is this the best nano skimmer on the market?

I have a 10 gallon aquarium but will be soon upgrading to a 20 high.

I read the quote you placed above as the skimmer is good in sps dominated tanks up to 26 gallons. But were to to run softies you can go up to fifty.

I don't know anything about this particular skimmer, but judging the way others pursue this hobby you might want to consider yourself a larger aquarium owner in training and buy accordingly. That way if you ever get into a 55 down the road and want a sps dominated tank you won't have to worry about picking up another skimmer.

Bottom line though, this skimmer seems good to run the course in both your current ten and future 20.

I suspect that the awkward wording is a translation issue. Seems like this capacity matches your needs.

That makes sense. In the future (like 4 years or so) I would like to do a 75-90 gallon reef. What's a pretty good skimmer for an SPS dominated tank of this size?

the biggest one you can fit and afford, thats my rule on skimmers

Are there brands that I should stay away from? Or brands that are really good with customer service and quality products?

I have one on my temp tank and once you get it set right, it'll pull some nasty skim. I'm going to be selling soon if you're interested.

How soon will you be looking to replace it and for how much would you be selling it for?
