    Default Clowns feeding host anemone

Currently I have two tank raised clowns hosting a green bubble tip anemone. When I feed the tank (frozen mysis) I never see the clowns feeding the anemone. Should I be worried at all? The anemeone is doing well, is not bleeching, and is very responsive to food. Should I feed him with a turkey baster or will the clowns eventually start feeding it? The light is a 75 w metal halide and the anemone is about 4" under the light source.

i feed mine directly with syringe. i feed shrimp to the clowns and mysis to the anenome. the clowns eventually learned to take the mysis to the anenome so that i dont have to any more. they'll even take flake food to it when they are full.

same here, my clown does feed my nem now but only lil pieces, every now and then. all other nems in my tank never get spot fed, just what they catch in water colum during feeding.

I would go so far as suggesting that when a clown brings in a piece of food, if the nem isn't fast enough, the clown is coming back to finish his meal.

I agree. Is the clown really actively feeding the anemone or does it just get the clown droppings?
Like the family dog laying under the high chair not because the baby feeds the dog but rather because of the stuff that naturally falls down in the process?

I have only one anemone and it's just a rock flower and I feed it. It likes it. And that's good enough reason for me to continue to feed it.

When I feed my tank the HUGE mysis (larger than PE) my black clown grabs the bits and feeds the nem. That's the only time though, and I imagine it's because the pieces are too large to eat.

Ok, so spot feeding it is. Hopefully the clowns learn to feed it. That would definitely be awesome.
