GC REEF captive raised H. Reidi Seahorses COMING SOON!!!

Hey Folks,

Thanks to our wonderful employees hard work and research, we have revamped our captive breeding program with our seahorses and babies are on their way to being available to live in your homes soon!

A bit of history: When GC Reef was first established, one of our main goals was to captive breed fish and seahorses as well as propagate fine corals. We started out with two pairs of H. reidi seahorses, one of which didnt find the love so we decided to sell them to a customer, but the other pair are very much "in love" and have started to produce huge clutches of babies on a regular basis. It took lots of research, patience and trial and error, with a few tragedies to perfect our operation, but now we have successful clutches of fry that are very healthy, eating like crazy and growing up very fast.

The first clutch is about a month old, we have approx. 50 little seahorses that will be available around Valentine's Day!!!! They are currently eating live artemia, but they will be transitioned to frozen variety (brine shrimp, daphnia and cyclops) starting next week. By the time they are ready to go to your homes, they will be fully weened to eat frozen foods happily and readily. So get a new tank cycled and ready because you wont want to miss having these incredible creatures in your home!!!

So.. any updates?

Also can you tell us more about your seahorse system?

Do they share the water supply with the other tanks (import fish, etc.)? Or are they completely separate?
