Berghia Nudibranches
Larry who runs the local hatchery sold me two, years ago and I placed them in my 158 that I had at the time and I watched them devour aiptasia one at a time like a bulldozer going through a forest. So when I started having trouble in my 29 here in my office I tried the aiptasia killers out there but nothing worked. Oh yea it would seem to kill the ones I injected but two days later there was another to take its place. So again I ordered two for my tank and once again Larry was a great guy and delivered mine since we had not seen each other in a while. The only thing was I did not see the devouring of aiptasia like last time so when it got bad enough I zapped them with Aiptasia X and again they seem to come back so I gave up. Then a month later I was looking in my tank for something and notice wow no more aiptasia? Okay I wasn’t injecting anymore maybe the Nudibranches made it and where eating them.
Well starting on Monday morning when I came in at 5:30 I noticed a large adult on the glass and was amazed, I was hoping it would lay eggs but after a moment it disappeared not to be seen again. This morning I found a juvenile on the glass so I sucked him into a small zip lock bag hoping I did not damage him so I can take him to a buddy of mine to release.
The moral of this story is I guess in the fast world we live in we have become very impatient and want everything right now and we expect everything to happen very quickly. Well as I found out once again Mother Nature is not in a hurry and takes time.

I keep trying to find some Berghias. I have a 24AP that looks like I am aquaculturing aiptasia. Honestly, I am almost to the point of trashing the entire setup and starting over. Every time I have the available resources to buy a few, there are none available.
The other problem is, they HAVE to be shipped. Even though I am in San Marcos and there is a hatchery in San Antonio, their website says pick up IS NOT AVAILABLE. Seems wasteful to ship such a short distance.
