    I had the D50 and switched to the D90 Both were excellent Cameras, you cant go wrong with a NIKON. If you do get the d40 make sure its the d40x.

    Don't know anything about this but whether you go Canon or Nikon you'll have a fine camera either way. Check out www.dpreview.com and www.dcresource.com and see reviews on anything that you are looking at getting. There are others also but I like these two the best so far for reviews. I shoot a D90 at the moment and wanting to upgrade to the newer model of the D700 when they come out with it. Really depends on what you want to do with your camera and what feels best in your hands (especially with DSLRs).
