Thread: RO/DI filter

    Default RO/DI filter

I've been looking into getting an ro/di setup but was wondering if some were any better than others. They all seem to have the same basic design. Also seems to be lots of setups that people build and sell on their own, would one of these be any better or worse than one from a name brand maker?

I think a lot of people on here are happy with their buckeye units:

+1 on that... their service was excellent and the unit works great. Plus they are a sponsor!

I've owned 4 RO/DI units. For MOST uses, the cheapo ones are just fine. However...

For a GOOD reef setup, this is NOT a place to be penny wise and pound foolish.

I LOVE my Buckeye unit, and Russ is just plain awesome for support. I've thrown 2 units away - one was from a low-end, but well known supplier to reefers (Coralife), and another from fleabay. In good conscience, I wouldn't even GIVE them away.

Do yourself a favor. Buy a Buckeye unit.

Seems like everyone is all in agreements and I’m with them too. I love my Buckeye unit. This is my third unit and the others don’t compare. I had a coralife unit and had the filter cups crack and spill water all over the house (good thing I was there). The Buckeye is built like a tank.
