I am pretty sure brass is an alloy (rather than an element like iron) and contains copper and zinc

Just ask one of the (veteran) worker from LOWES or HD and they will make it happen for you.
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...

Like Karin said .. we had a customer that found it easier to use a brass fitting and only one on his reef.. Well after a few months could not pin point why things were not doing well , we had him place a Polypad in and it turned blue (copper) in a short time. With the removal of brass fitting all was well

no metals. any metal, even stainless will corrode in time and who knows what will leech into the tank.

What fittings are you looking for? Their are alot of fittings that can be had at irrigation stores if Lowes and Home Depot dont have them.
