Duh, I meant Koralias but wrote Vortechs. New rule: no posting on MAAST til I finish my first cup of coffee!

I didn't realize how big the 60's were until I looked at the listed dimensions. 4" diameter and the min flow rate is 3500gph?! Wow, they are a beast.

What are you using as your return? How much head loss are you experiencing? Does your display have drilled returns? The reason I ask is you may be able to meet your circulation needs by cleaning, replumbing, or upgrading your return pump. An efficient return pump would increase flow, use less electricity, and reduce eye sores in your display. Well placed returns can create a surge effect you are looking for. Do you want allot of flow in one direction, or allot of flow all over? Just a thought.

Chris, that's been my thinking. Go with one mp40es for now and keep the Koralias for help. Then later on add another mp40.

Yeah, I just looked at it again and couldn't believe I wrote that twice! You're right, I was just sitting down to drink it when I wrote that second post. Neurons were definitely not firing this morning (and I had been at work for two hours at that point... scary!)

Why do you think that is not enough flow with what you have? I think you having alot of flow already ,unless you're planing to have alot of SPS. You might want to reposition them first and see. Just my 2 cents.
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...
