    Question External Skimmer Recommendations

Im looking to upgrade skimmers from my HOB Remora Pro to a larger EXTERNAL skimmer and would like some suggestions and recommendations. Compared to most of you I am very ignorant when it comes to the topic of skimmers so I would love all the help I can get!

Im looking for a smaller, good performing, inexpensive, external skimmer.. if there is such a thing. I really like the Bubble Magnus and Octopus lines if they make a skimmer that matches my criteria? Im looking to spend under $150 which means I will be buying used so maybe a new price around $200-250. It must be external, I do not want to add more heat to the system.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

what size tank is the skimmer for? I have an octopus bh 100 on my bc 29 and it works amazingly well. I love them they work well and tend to be priced well enough.

I would say go with the octopus based on my experience with them. Havent ever used a bubble magus but apparently they are good as well.

What exactly is the problem with the Remora that you wanna trade it in?
