Thread: Foster & Smith's Nano tanks- Dont know which is better......

  1. #1

Question Foster & Smith's Nano tanks- Dont know which is better......

I want to get one for my office/studio but since I'm still new in ALOT of areas, I'm not sure which is the "best" to get: lighting wise, equipment-wise

    ****First Choice****

If you have the catalog, page 71, second one, it's called: Oceanic Biocube

Or looking online, it's called: Oceanic Biocube

    ****Second Choice****

Catalog, pg 75, "Fan- Colored Nano Cube Deluxe"

Online "Fan- Colored Nano Cube Deluxe"

I basically want all types of corals and only a pair of clowns and 5 blue legged crabs.... when it's ready of course.

I think the fit and finish is better on the biocube's. I had a 14 and now a 29. If money allow it get the 29.

Yeah money's no big, if the Biocube was better light/equipment wise I was gonna get the 29gal
& if the Fan- Colored Nano Cube Deluxe was better, I was gonna get the 24gal

I just want the "best" lights and equipment. I'm still new at all this so I dont know which one has the better lights/filters, etc.
I want corals like candy candys, zoas, supermans, etc. I'm still learning the names. I have 6 books on corals & coral care.

ive seen a couple biocube hqi up and running and no heat probs, another good one is the jbj also has a nice hqi and it comes with a wave maker http://www.nanotuners.com/product_in...roducts_id=435. you can always buy one of the cubes and get a led retro fit and have less of a heat issue and good lighting http://www.nanotuners.com/index.php?cPath=73

I have heard and read reports of JBJ having electrical issues? Is this anybodys experience or reading on here?

seems like the biocubes pop up frequently for sale. If you are not in a huge rush you could probably pick up a biocube used for reasonable and then spiffy it up to your liking with add ons like the ones Chris posted

Since my office/studio is lacking space, i thought the "cube" look would be perfect and I know my "kids" would love seeing the bright colors of corals and they love the clowns i currently have but they cant come into my room [where my 75gal tank is] all the time. They see my clowns once as a "opener" but they always ask how my clowns are doing. So i thought I could put a Cube in the office/studio so they can look at them all the time and I can easily make sure hands STAY out. It's kinda funny when meeting me for the first time, the kids are quiet as a mouse but once I show them my 75gal, they start asking all kinds of questions and tell me about their pets. Opens them up a bit to me, they seem more at ease around me, as a teacher.
