    Unhappy power sweep powerhead

    i have a power sweep power head and it stopped... sweeping. anyone else have this problem? ive cleaned it and everything..

    anyone know how to make it move again? (it just stays to one side when i turn it on)

    I know you said you cleaned it but did you try cleaning it in vinegar? I had the same problem on a old one and a nice distilled vinegar clean did the trick.

    Run it in about a 50/50 mix for a few hours and see if that does the trick. I normally just put my pumps in a bucket with the distilled vinegar...add some water and let them run over night.

    I gave up on mine. It will eventually get stuck with something, like a little sand particle or algae fragment. Just not worth the time for me. I like the MJ1200s.

    I haven't heard anything good about long term longevity, in a reef tank, when it comes to power sweeps. Most users report that they have to clean them often, too often.

    Anyways... Vinegar typically cleans the scaly build up on most power heads without a problems. Hit it with a toothbrush after a vinegar soak, works nicely.
