could this critter be a rock anemone?
I got some macro and this thing was attached, seemed bigger at first then deflated quite a bit. Currently the size of a time. I put that frag plug on the piece of algae to keep it from floating around and the critter attached to that plug in record speed!
So what is it? Some kind of fancy aiptasia?
Karin
looks cool....but reminds me of majano????
I've never seen a majano. I didn't put it in the main tank so I can easily retrieve it if necessary (that's why I snipped it off and put it in there)
Karin
I'm not sure though...I have only seen majanos in live once before in Giau's old big boy tank. It's confusing searching online though...because they all start to look the same...immature bta's, rock anemones and majanos....perhaps some of the scientific id pros will chime in.
FYI: Anemonea cf. Majano

Doesn't look like any of the majano I've seen in LFS's. And for the record karin, My little yellow watchmen got his tail caught a couple times when he was first dropped in he tank and had no problem getting out![]()

okay I am now convinced it is a majano.
It's jsut too vigorous to be anything but a pest. Already made itself a home now on the rock and looking as happy as can be.
The little arms are wiggling. It's kind of cute but I don't want gazillions of them in the main tank.
Anybody want a super cool free majano anemone?
Karin
If its a type of majano its gonna have lots of friends soon...
I know a good way to get rid of it![]()
