    Default reference thread: advanced sps

this will be a running list of the corals we (maast members) believe are sps corals that require more specialized care.

if you would like to add a coral to this list, please post it here along with why (personal experience) it should be included.

other things that would be helpful:

    pics
how long have you had it?
    what are its food/light/flow requirements?
what other organisms is it compatible/incompatible with?
anything else you can think of

Acropora tenuis: Will not tolerate high nitrogen levels. Do not move around in the tank as I almost lost mine twice by doing this. It does not tolerate changes in light and water flow. No specific coral feeding was required other than normal fish feedings. Very peaceful coral.

Oregon Blue Tort: mostly the same as a tenuis, but mine seems a bit hardier. It has been moved around the aquarium and few times with few ill side effects. The only reason I put this here is because of the price and the fact that it's a pretty slow grower.
