Maybe nothing is wrong. Some of the rare acans are very sensitive to light and changes thus causing them a week or more to acclimate. I have had some that will stay closed for up to two weeks after I move them.
Be patient and I'm sure they will open up.
Now....the above could be true but there is a whole list of things that could be setting them up for death but without details there isn't much more I can tell you.
How long have you had them?

I'd say give them another week and don't move them if you have them in good spots and if they are still declining then we can probe you a little more.
I'm not a fan of laying them over the sand/crushed coral with nothing to grow onto. I prefer mounting them to a flat rock with room to grow. The Acan Lords I believe create their own skeleton as they grow so they may not be a problem but most of the other acans with "fluffy" heads need something to spread over....
good luck.

I think most acans will ball up and create their own skeleton when left on the sand....but if they are mounted to a rock they will spread out and kind of encrust over the rock along with a small skeleton. I'm basing this off what my acans do. I have never had any of the Acanthastrea Lordhowensis though.
