Coral dip

I know this has been talked about before, but times change and so do people. So, I want to know what all everyone uses to dip SPS. I want the whole setup, so help me pick the stuff I need to buy.

I use Lugol's Iodine dip. Picked mine up at Gabes.

after inspected with magnifying 10x glassflashlight.
1gal. tank water with 1 drop of TMPCC 5-10 mins
1gal. water with 1 drop of Lugol Solution 5-10mins
1 gal water with a dap interceptor crumbs 5-10 mins
1 gal water with a couple drops of Coral Revive 5-10mins (just added this to the mix recently)
swoosh the coral around a couple times and rinse it in a a gal of tank water then goes to the display.
I usally mixed all in 1 gal water for 5-10 mins if i am in a rush.

After all these posts about the AEFW that are going around, sounds like what people are doing ain't cuttin' it... you are more than welcome to come by any time and see what I do. There are ONLY 2 know ingredients that will kill AEFW and that is Levasole and Fluke tabs. Iodine/Iodide, Lugols, flatworm exit, Betadine, Interceptor do not kill them. Tropic Marine Reef dip has been said to take care of a small infestation but I ain't bettin' my tank on them yet. Levasole has been taken off the market for misuse and it is now being used in test subjects for stage three colon cancer and HIV. If it comes back that this works on human ailments, guess how expensive it will be then? In September, they will be releasing a derivative of Levasole in powder form by Prohibit. It contains the Levasole Hydrochloride which is the active ingredient we so need. I am on a few lists to receive some of this when released. You can bet I am watching for the release. I have never used Fluke tabs, so I have no data on them but there are a few threads on RC about their use.

Guys we have got to start taking a pro-active stance on this...NOTHING, I mean NOTHING goes in my tank without going thru a 6 hr dip process and inspection by magnification.

TMPCC does not kill AEFW, from what I have read. It merely stuns them long enough to shake them off the affected coral. It's all a major risk at this point. Whoever comes out with a killer cure will most certainly become a millionaire.

When I found out that they were using the Levasole Boluses and they were working...I bought a bottle of 100 of them and I split them with a friend in Dallas. I am down to about 6 boluses now and have been using them for 3 years. I believe Eric Borneman has some decent write-up on the AEFW. He was researching the training of certain wrasses to eat them but nothing so far that I have found eat the eggs and therein lies the problem. Someone that finds something that eats the eggs will be rich. the only help at this point is killing them before they lay more eggs which is stopping their 5 day cycle. Chris, I dip with the Levasole, Interceptor and Coral Revive for 6 hrs.

Steve, since there are many types of livestock wormers, have you heard about anyone using a different type?

Gotta disagree with Bigbird in one area. My personal experience with betadine is that it will kill and disolve AEFW. I just finished my 3rd dip (4 if you include the initial test dip), and I saw them drop off the corals in the first 5-10 mins. After 25 mins, I couldn't find any more little wiggly worms anymore. I did find a few in the 1st bucket rinse bucket, but they were not moving at all. Nothing scientific here, just personal observation.

My new routine once I start adding new sps will be to break them off the existing base, inspect for any eggs, betadine dip, and interceptor dip.
