    Default Port A fishing reports?

    Hey, new guy here.

We're heading down to Port A. for the weekend now that I'm out of school for a couple of weeks. Any body been down lately and done any fishing, any hot spots etc.

Well, we're going to be staying on shore since there will be a bunch of families there with our kids and all. I'm hoping anywhere from the jetties back inland into the bay will be decent, just hoping. Thanks for the info though just in case we get a wild hair.

Get to the jetties on the side of the channel. Get your live bait hooked and into barrel. When the tide stops rolling in/out you will have about a 20-30 minute spot where you can cast out and pick up some heavy hitters.

I've had some luck casting out for cat right on the beach.

Inshore is good right now. Lots of slot reds and drum. Trout as well, however, many are just undersized.

That's not really a big deal as it's more sport unless I get onto a good gruop to keep, then dinners on.

I plan on fishing the jetties some but my favorite is to go wade fishing just before you get to the faire boats going into Port A. from Aransas Pass right as the sun is coming up. High tides are set for right around 5am so may be just right for this trip.
